Wilma Jean “Jeannie” Jones 

September 8, 1933 – August 3, 2026 

Wilma "Jeannie" Jones officially traded her navigator’s chair for angel wings on August 3, 2026, just a few weeks shy of her 93rd birthday. 

Born in Paris, Arkansas, on September 8, 1933, to a hard-working coal miner named Robert Cooper and his wife, Bessie, Jeannie learned early on the value of resilience, family, and a good sense of humor. Growing up with her four siblings—Millie, Mary, Robert Jr., and James—the Cooper crew made their way to Oklahoma in 1941. After a few stops along the way, they settled in Tulsa, where Jeannie proudly graduated from Central High School in 1951. 

Jeannie went on to embrace the wildest job of all: raising five children—Michael, Kenneth, Teresa, Lisa, and Roger. Once the home fires were burning bright, she decided to add business school to her resume. That sharp mind landed her roles at Inhoff and Douglas Aircraft, eventually bringing her to Foxboro in 1975. 

It was at Foxboro that she met Lloyd "Keith" Jones. They fell fast and hard, marrying on October 2, 1976. However, romance came with a hilarious plot twist: upon returning from their honeymoon, Keith was assigned the astute task of firing his brand-new bride due to company conflict-of-interest rules. Jeannie packed her desk, took it in stride, and established an unspoken ground rule that lasted the next 50 years: Keith would never be her boss again. She made her triumphant return to Douglas Aircraft, where she worked until her well-earned retirement in 1991. 

Retirement was hardly restful. Jeannie immediately put her talents to work serving her church and lovingly babysitting her growing crop of grandchildren. But the real adventure began when Keith retired and they purchased their iconic 2000 Dolphin RV. From the captain’s

chairs of that motorhome, Keith and Jeannie logged thousands of miles, exploring 48 states and Canada. They hosted camping clubs, welcomed family along for the ride, and collected a lifetime of unforgettable stories. (They only missed Hawaii—due to obvious RV driving limitations—and Wisconsin, which somehow managed to dodge their route!) 

In 2003, after traveling the continent, they built their dream home on Grand Lake—a spot that had been their family and camping club’s favorite gathering point since 1980. They spent years making lake memories before moving to Owasso in 2018 to be near the heart of their family. 

Jeannie was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Bessie Cooper; her sisters, Millie and Mert; her brothers, Junior and James; her beloved sons, Michael, Kenneth, and Roger; and her stepson, Shawn. 

She is survived by the love of her life, Keith; her twin daughters, Lisa Rucker, and Teresa Francis (and husband Frank) of Owasso; and her stepdaughter, Melanie (and husband Bruce) of Houston. 

Jeannie’s legacy lives on through her 7 cherished grandchildren: Kenzi, AJ (Michelle), Ashley (Austin), Victoria (Cole), Storm, Deanna, Zach, Connor, Erin, and Elena; as well as her 8 great-grandchildren: Steven, Avery, Payton, Drake, Cash, Ava, Cooper and Raina alongside a sprawling, loving network of extended family and friends. 

Jeannie spent 92 years navigating life with grace, quick wit, and an open heart. She leaves behind a legacy built on strong coffee, long highway stretches, and unconditional love. She will be profoundly missed, forever celebrated, and never managed by anyone ever again.
